The Story So Far...
In June of 2007, Trelaske Hotel & Restaurant proprietors Hazel Billington and Ross Lewin realised a dream of living and running a business in one of the most beautiful parts of the British Isles. Combining years of experience from professional careers in hospitality, Trelaske is now run almost entirely between us both with some help during the busy summer months from our dedicated staff.
During Trelaske’s first year of new ownership, the AA inspector awarded a merit score of 79% along with a three star hotel status. This merit scoring places Trelaske in the top 25 AA inspected hotels within Cornwall.
Also during the first year, with Ross at the helm of ‘all things cuisine’,
Trelaske was awarded with the AA Rosette for food excellence. Ross has worked tirelessly to maintain this status year-on-year and Trelaske is proud to still be one of only 44 properties currently within Cornwall to have been awarded this accolade.
Following this, Trelaske were pleased to be featured in “Hotel” magazine, a national publication, for its outstanding achievements in under a year…
Trelaske Hotel & Restaurant’s sustainability and impact on our surroundings is also very important to us and with this is mind we are proud to have received two further awards in recognition of this. Firstly the Green Acorn award issued by the South East Cornwall Tourism Association, plus our certification from Envision, a European funded scheme awarded to businesses that strive to be as environmentally friendly as is reasonably possible.
One of the most impactful resources within tourism has been the growth of the popular user review site Tripadvisor. This is especially important to us as it represents genuine feedback from guests on their experiences from their stay with us here at the hotel. Based on these reviews we are proud to have consistently been rated the number one hotel in Looe and also one of the top three hotels to stay within Cornwall.
Our ultimate highlights from Tripadvisor have been receiving an award in 2010 for being voted by our reviewers as one of the Top Ten Hotels overall within the UK and now, for 2012 receiving two further awards! We're thrilled to have been voted by our guests and been placed second for “Best Service” for hotels in the UK plus, being placed in the Top 25 for being great value for money.
Finally since 2011 we have been included in The Good Hotel Guide.
This again is especially important to us since entry into the guide is only sanctioned via independent nominations and we aim to honour this by continually striving to provide the best service we can during your stay
